Westside Atlanta Reconciliation Process (Convict Leasing Memorial/T&T)
As Head of Interpretation at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights (NCCHR), Lee oversaw exhibitions, education, and mission-focused programs. Her leadership extended to the pivotal initiative, Truth and Transformation: Westside, aimed at engaging scholars, community advocates, public officials, business leaders, and CBC Board members in exploring the history of the Chattahoochee Brick Company (CBC). This project facilitated discussions and public meetings to understand community perspectives and identify desires for a memorial experience.
Under Lee's guidance, stakeholders participated in a weeklong retreat to deepen their engagement with the CBC history and envision meaningful outcomes. This collaborative effort sought to honor the legacy of the CBC while addressing community needs and aspirations. This project is now being re-visioned as an ongoing City of Atlanta priority.
